2. Apologies:

The meeting opened at 5.10 pm with Greg Heath in the Chair.

That PESA expresses its appreciation for Patrick Fitzsimons’ services to the Society and its best wishes for his recovery.

3. Minutes of the 1999 OGM

Moved: K Harris/J Roe
That the minutes as circulated be accepted as a true record of the meeting.

4. Business Arising from the Minutes

That INPE information was not conveyed to PESA members.

5. President’s Report

The report was circulated. The PESA web site is now operational at http:www.rmit.edu.au/elcs/PESA.

6. Business Arising

There should be a link on the website to the Encyclopaedia of Philosophy of Education Online.

7. EPAT

The Editor’s report was circulated. The agreement with Corfax for four issues per annum was signed on 19 August 2000. The EPAT Statement of Financial Accounts was supplied but not available at the meeting.

That Marjorie O’Loughlin be confirmed in her position as Associate Editor and that James Marshall be Co-Editor for the next three years.

Moved: M Peters/P Fitzsimons
That two annual honorary Editorial Interns for EPAT be established (one Australian and one New Zealand), that they be accorded free PESA membership for the period of their internship and they receive up to $AUD500pa as reimbursement of expenses.

Marjorie O’Loughlin left the meeting at 5.50 pm.

The issue of GST on PESA and EPAT was raised and the need to apply for an ABN to be investigated.

That PESA revise its annual payout to $AUD3,000 to the Editor of EPAT for expenses incurred.

9. PESA Finances

That the OGM note the Statement of Accounts by John Roe and require the Treasurer to present a complete Statement of Accounts to the Executive by 31 October 2000.

10. Business Arising

Moved: P Fitzsimons/J Marshall
That the OGM authorises the payment of up to $AUD3,000 to the INPE Sydney Conference organisers.

That the OGM authorise the Executive to consolidate the PESA and EPAT accounts under the control of the Treasurer.

That the membership fee for PESA 2001 be $AUD$50.00

11. Executive Election

That Patrick Fitzsimons be granted leave of absence and that Peter Fitzsimons be co-opted as Vice-President.

That John Roe be co-opted as Treasurer and David Beckett remain on the Executive Committee as a member.

12. Conference 2001

Moved: J Marshall/K Harris
That the 2001 conference be held in Perth in November in conjunction with AARE and that the Executive explore the possibility of holding the 2002 conference in Asia (possibly Hong Kong).

13. Other Business

That the OGM supports the Executive in efforts to encourage cross membership with PES and PESGB.

That the Executive explore the possibility of publication of PESA papers from past conferences in the manner indicated in the PES newsletter.

14. Notice of Motion

J Marshall gave notice that the next OGM be intended to move:
That PESA disbands forthwith.
