1 December 2001

1.  Present : G. Heath (Chair), B. Haynes (Sec.), J. Roe, Peter Fitzsimons, M. Bibby, P. Hager, M. Uljens.

2.  Apologies  from 5 members.

Meeting opened at 5pm.

3.  Minutes of meeting 2000

Moved J. Roe, seconded B. Haynes that
The minutes of the 2000 meeting be accepted subject to the following amendments:
P Hager be noted as an apology.
Item 8 "inuse' be replaced with 'use'
Item 14 'PES' be replaced with 'PESA'

4.  Business arising

Notice of Motion being Item 14 of OGM 2000 lapsed for want of a mover.

5.  President's report

Moved P. Fitzsimons, seconded J. Roe that
The report be received and, when edited, be placed on the web.

6.  EPAT Report

Moved M. Bibby, seconded P. Fitzsimons that
The report be received.

Moved G. Heath, seconded P. Hager that
The Editorial honorarium be increased to AUD$ 5,000 as recommended in Item 6 of the EPAT Editor's report.

Moved J. Roe, seconded P. Hager that
The editor be requested to update the PESA information on the inside cover of EPAT and that a list of members to sent to the Associate Editor (Book reviews).

7.  Treasurer's report

Moved J. Roe, seconded G. Heath that
The Treasurer's report be received.

Moved G. Heath, seconded P. Fitzsimons that
Executive consider suggestions from members for promoting philosophy of education in Australasia and Asia (e.g. funding graduate students to present papers at conference) and present recommendatiuons to the next OGM.

8.  Constitution

G. Heath agreed to redarft the Constitution for comment and proposal to the next OGM.

9.  Executive Election

The following persons were nominated and elected 

President  Greg Heath
Vice President  Peter Fitzsimons
Secretary  Bruce Haynes
Treasurer  John Roe
Committee  Michael Peters (Editor EPAT)
Immediate Past President  Marjorie O'Loughlin

10.  Conference 2002

The President to explore the possibility of holding the Conference in Brisbane, Hong Kong or Melbourne.

11.  Other business

A flyer advertising PESA, EPAT and the Conference be sent to Education departments and Philosophy departments at universities in Australasia and Asia.

The meeting closed at 6.15pm

As per the motion moved under Item 10 EPAT Report - Business arising at the OGM 2000, the following statement is provided by Paul Hager.
