8. Election of Executive Officers

The meeting noted that Bruce Haynes had served as Secretary
since 1999 and renewed his tenure in that office in the knowledge
that it exceeded the three year term specified in the Constitution.
9. Conference 2005 (J. Ozolins in Chair)
(a) PESA 2005 be held in Hong Kong, and
(b) PESA subsidise travel costs for those members presenting
a refereed paper at the Hong Kong 2005 conference. P. Fitzsimons/B.

10. Conference 2006
Jim Mackenzie to be the Conference Organiser for PESA 2006 in
Sydney (R. Shaw/E. Grierson)
11. That PESA graduate student
and retired full members who present a refereed paper at a PESA
conference may apply for a Conference Scholarship. P. Fitzsimons/E.

12. That PESA establish two
AUD$10,000 Doctoral Scholarships, one in Australia and one in
New Zealand, for students in philosophy of education, each for

13. That the Rules for incorporation
of the Society (as circulated pursuant to the resolution at
the 2003 OGM) be accepted and that the Society proceed to become

14. Policy activism
Bruce Haynes invited members to consider renewing the education
policy activities of the kind engaged in some years ago and
in commencing forms of publication aimed at influencing national
education policy in Australasia. Members were requested to suggest
suitable projects to the Executive to coordinate action.
15. Fellows of the Society
No nominations were received. W.E. Anderson was noted as a Fellow.
16. Other business
Concern was expressed at the long queue of general articles
for EPAT and the Editor was requested to ensure that at least
two issues per year were available for general articles (as
per understandings given at a previous OGM).

The meeting noted the retirement of Kathie Forster and acknowledged
her work for the Society as Archivist. B. Haynes/J.Ozolins
The meeting congratulated the PESA 2004 Conference Organising
Committee on providing a suitable venue for a well organised,
high quality and enjoyable conference. F. Haynes and members
by acclamation.
The members congratulated the PESA Executive on their work during
the year in advancing the interests of the Society. F. Haynes
and members by acclamation.
The meeting closed a 6.20pm so that members had
time to imbibe at the Conference Dinner.
