1. Present: Greg Heath (Chair), Bruce

Semetsky, Patrick Fitzsimons, Paul Hager, Ruth Irwin, Nesta Devine,
Peter Fitzsimons, Janette Poulton.

Meeting opened at 5pm.
3. Minutes of meeting 2001
Moved P. Hager/seconded Peter Fitzsimons that the minutes be accepted
subject to the correction of ‘redarft’.
4. Business arising
Dealt with as items on the agenda.
5. President’s Report
A written report was circulated and the President spoke regarding
several items. He indicated that he will register the PESA business
name an obtain an ABN to facilitate business dealings with Blackwells.
He also indicated that he would contact persons in Japan, Singapore
and Hong Kong with a view to expanding the membership and activities
of PESA.
Moved G. Heath/seconded F. Haynes that the report be received.
6. EPAT Report
As the report was printed in yellow on the hotel’s printer,
it was summarised by the President and will be emailed to members.
Moved G. Heath/seconded N. Devine that the report be received.
Moved F. Haynes/seconded G. Heath that Paul Hager be commended for
maintaining the EPAT mailing list.
The President is to enquire whether EPAT and PESA subscriptions
can be linked by Blackwells and the memberships forwarded to PESA.
The President is to indicate that PESA wishes to own the domain
name.
7. Treasurer’s Report
Item adjourned to a later hour.
8. Constitution
President advised he had commenced revisions and would circulate
these when had made further progress.

10. Conference
That, as AARE/NZARE are in Auckland, Peter Fitzsimons and Nesta
Devine to be co-organisers of the 2003 Conference in Auckland.
A future conference in Asia to be dependent upon a member being
available to organise the event.
Moved G. Heath/seconded by all that we record our appreciation to
Mark Freakley for his organisation of what was a small but most
productive and convivial conference.
11. Other business
Moved Peter Fitzsimons/seconded J. Ozolins that PESA provide A$400
each to Ruth Irwin and Janette Poulton as Graduate Student Subsidy
to attend the 2002 PESA Conference.
Moved Peter Fitzsimons/seconded J. Ozolins that PESA Executive draft
a flyer for the next conference including conditions for the Graduate
Student Subsidy for paper presenters.
Meeting adjourned to a later hour.
Meeting reconvened by G. Heath at Vino’s Cafe
at 8.05pm. Attendance as above plus John Roe.
7. Treasurer’s Report
Moved G. Heath/seconded Peter Fitzsimons that the report be received.
Moved G. Heath/seconded Peter Fitzsimons that PESA record its appreciation
for the long and faithful service John Roe has rendered to the Society.
